Selangor FC will face Perak FC for their 7th match of the Super League 2021 at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya at 9 pm tonight.

For the record, the last time the Red Giants met The Bos Gaurus was during the 2020 Super League ended with a 1-1 draw where Ifedayo Olusegun equalized through a header in the 31st minute of the match at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

The Red Giants squad is determined to avoid more slip-ups after failing to take advantage of playing in front of their own supporters especially when the agony of losing to the Kedah Darul Aman FC in the middle of last week is still clearly felt.

According to Karsten Neitzel, the head coach of Selangor FC, the squad technical side knew the strength of Perak FC and had made specific preparations to face them tonight.

"We have analyzed our performance from the last match and have made thorough preparations for the match against Perak FC tonight by providing information and prepared an elaborate game plan to the players," he said.

“We know the strength of Perak, and the team will give everything they have tonight as they will play better from the previous game. Hopefully, the 3 points will be ours,” Karsten added.

As for the player's availability, four Red Giants’ players could not be listed for this match due to injuries such as Nik Sharif Haseefy (ankle injury), Halim Saari (ACL), Wan Zack Haikal (right knee injury), Tim Heubach, and Sean Selvaraj.

Nonetheless, the line-up of young players promoted since the start of the season such as Sharul Nazeem, Aliff Haiqal Lau, Mukhairi Ajmal, Ahmad Zikri, Danial Asri, and Jordan Ayimbila are seen to be able to fill the gap left after showing convincing action in few last matches.

Selangor FC is currently at the 7th spot in the Liga Super 2021 with 8 points accumulated as a result of two wins, two draws, and two defeats, while Perak FC is in 8th place with the same number of points.

Hopefully, the Selangor FC team can show positive results and get all the 3 points in the Super League 2021 match tonight and catch up with the league standings.
